The All-Knowing Physician

The All-Knowing Physician hath His finger on the pulse of mankind. He perceiveth the disease, and prescribeth, in His unerring wisdom, the remedy. Every age hath its own problem, and every soul its particular aspiration. Be anxiously concerned with the needs of the age ye live in, and centre your deliberations on its exigencies and requirements.
— Bahá’u’lláh, Gleanings CVI / Lawḥ-i-Mánikchí-Ṣáḥib

The world is not without a Physician. The question is whether we take the remedy.
What problem of this age are you still treating with yesterday’s medicine?

The most vital duty, in this day

The most vital duty, in this day, is to purify your characters, to correct your manners, and improve your conduct.
— ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, no. 2

The first work is not argument. It is the refinement of the self.
Which manner or habit is asking to be corrected first?

Leading us all to knowledge…

The Lord of celestial wisdom saith: A harsh word is even as a sword thrust; a gentle word as milk. The latter leadeth the children of men unto knowledge and conferreth upon them true distinction.

— Bahá’u’lláh, Lawḥ-i-Mánikchí-Ṣáḥib, Tabernacle of Unity

The same tongue can wound or nourish. Distinction is given to the gentle word.

Which kind of word left your mouth last?

Same Source, Many Lights

Blessed souls whether Moses, Jesus, Zoroaster, Krishna, Buddha, Confucius, or Muḥammad were the cause of the illumination of the world of humanity. How can we deny such irrefutable proof? How can we be blind to such light?
— ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, from a Tablet, Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster and Related Subjects

The light has many dawns. The sun is one.
Which of these names have you been taught to love — and which have you been taught to look past?

Nature is God’s Will and…

Say: Nature in its essence is the embodiment of My Name, the Maker, the Creator. … Nature is God’s Will and is its expression in and through the contingent world. It is a dispensation of Providence ordained by the Ordainer, the All-Wise. … Indeed a man of insight can perceive naught therein save the effulgent splendor of Our Name, the Creator.
— Bahá’u’lláh, Lawḥ-i-Ḥikmat, Fountain of Wisdom

Nature is not a backdrop. It is the Will of the Creator made visible. What would change if you walked outside today as a reader of that Book?
